Hayley made him let her go and ran into the room. '' do it '' she begged the guards

"Hayley!" I screamed, I watched as Lan fought with the others. I was frozen in fear of losing any one of them.

Hayley sat on her knees again beggingly now. '' please '' she said.

As I watched in horror as the old guy walked up to Hayley again, rage kicked in. I darted to her side. "Take one more step and you die." I threatened.

Once he had control of his own body again he whirled and leapt, tearing down one of the encroaching guards, ripping him in two, he growled "If you are going to take anybody make it me. It is my fault they are here so take me and let her go free, COME ON DAMN YOU!"

This is why I wanted Lan to leave. "Lan, just go. Now." I kept my eyes on the old guy, who was watching me with half-amusement.

He retreated to Becca's side and growled "No, not while you are in danger Becca and not while Hayley is trying to kill herself... by assisted suicide."

"Look," I said to the old guy, half-ignoring Lan. I knew he wouldn't listen to me. "Hayley's changed her mind. We would like to leave now."

Hayey got up anger inside bursting out. She didn't know what happened a third gift? insane! She cursed with all kinds of words no one even know to speak. She kicked a man with a black coat and everyone stood still. She looked around and calmed down. '' sit. Quiet. Calm '' everyone did what she said except Becca and Lan who she kept out of the circle.

Lan stood beside Becca, his rage smouldering away beneath the surface as he straightened from his crouch and took Becca's hand firmly in his own. Glaring at the vampires around them.

Hayley turned at both of them her face angry and annoyed. '' thanks for a longer life in misery '' she growled and ran away.

He frowned, the anger plain on his features as he heard Hayley before he gently pushed Becca out the door after her backing out half crouched facing the guard the entire time.

Hayley ran around like a crazy. She hated Everyone. She needed rest and peace right now.

I watched Hayley run off. Her words cut through me like a knife. I could feel the sobs threatening to take over, I held them back as Lan gently pushed me out the door. I walked unusually slow through the shadows of Volterra. Thinking about my options. Whether it would be easier to just leave and never come back. Or not be able to come back. I shuddered as I comtemplated losing Hayley and Lan.

Hayley walked ound like crazy. She ws angry but cared about Becc. Damn hwy didn't they kill her?

I released my hand from Lan's, kissed him once on the cheek and wandered off out of the maze of alleys and into the square. there was one small patch of sunlight. I headed towards it. Hayley would be better off without 'worrying about losing me'.

Hayley went to an Alley as she saw becca walking up to the sunlight. Hayley was standing in front of her on the other side of the sunlight. She looked confused.

Lan scowled as she vanished and he went after her stopping her short of the sun light he whispered softly "No. Hayley is near, Ewan is not far off either, he came with me .. if we can get them to one place, herd them she will be too confused .. they are mate's they just won't admit it yet .."

Hayley fell on her knees. She lost her sight everything daded and she held her hands close to the sunlight. She looked down and up again. What was wrong with her?

I jumped back a half-step when I saw Hayley on the other side of the sunlight. *Hayley, I'm sorry.* I thought sincerely. *But, you're never going to lose me. I can promise you that.* I sprinted straight though the sunlight to Hayley, not caring anymore. "Hayley??" I knelt on the ground next to her. "Hayley, are you okay?"

'' I'm sorry '''she said then fell on the floor. No sight no hearing. She looked like she was dead.

Lan whirled seeing Becca run into the light then seeing Ewan with two spare cloaks in his arms across the way, he darted out grabbing Ewan pulling him to Hayley, throwing one cloak over each of the girls as he knelt by Becca.

Ewan frowned and crouched by Hayley "Hey .." he said softly, Lan had dragged him to Volterra without even giving Ewan his name until they arrived.

Hayley felt nothing and couldn't see nothing. She just layed there.

Hayley looked like she was dead. I watched Hayley as I heard someone approach and then felt the cloak on my shoulders.

'' she smelled Lan and her sight was grey and her lips were moving. '' right.. i say drop dead and here i am '' she couldn't move but sure could talk.
