Another Dreary Day

I walked into the gym, looking around for Lan. he wasn't hard to spot in his clothes. I skipped over and sat next to him as we waited to see who would be with who for the martial arts lesson.

When they called himself and Becca and Matt and some girl named Jeyne he grinned, he would be paired with Matt for the first spar then Becca for the next two then Matt again. The coach told him full contact so when he squared up to Matt and the whistle went he bound matt's arm flipping him and putting pressure on, stomping on his shoulder till he heard a loud thunk as he dislocated it. When the coach called the round end between him and Matt he simply nodded and walked off as the coaches panicked over Matt's shoulder, he sat beside Becca quietly.

I grinned. "Good work," I whispered. "They might cancel gym, now while they fuss over him. And then I can get out of these stupid shorts."

He smiled softly "I like them" he teased "Oh and I slipped forkroot in the bottle they are watering Matt from, and when I walked away I said that he was to admit he slandered us and that he fears me and that is why he did it and he is jealous. He will admit he knows we are lovers now"

I listened to Lan, working to stop the laugh that was on it's way. I guess my plan wasn't necessary, in the end. As I assumed, the two coaches rolled Matt onto a stretcher. -It was only his shoulder for Christ's sake!- and took him through thr double doors, towards the nurse's office.

He put his arms around Becca with a grin and held her there as the rest filtered out, Matt's cronies lingering to glare at him till he threw a bock-en at them. He looked at her and smiled ruefully.

i grinned as I watched Matt's troupe file out behind the girls. I wasn't sure if it was that satisfaction or the joy of having Lan touch me that ran through my veins, but either way, I liked it.

He laughed and decided to tease her by putting his hand on her thigh where normal shorts would of ended but the jogging tight shorts she was wearing did not "Mmm nice." he teased.

A shock ran through my veins once more, more powerful than the last, and I knew which option was the reason for it.

He laughed and took his arms from around her "Make sure you steal those shorts ... I like them on you" he said ruefully with a small smile.

I rolled my eyes and grinned sarcastically.

He helped her up and when one of the other coaches came into the gym he pulled her close and kissed her, he whispered into the kiss "That should get rumours started" before the coach ushered them into the changing rooms.

I laughed so hard once he released me from the kiss. I headed out of the gym, holding Lan's hand and letting go when I was outside the girls changing rooms.

He smiled at her as he slipped inside the changing rooms before four of the boys confronted him and lashed out. He twisted throwing one through the door in a shower of splintered wood before spinning under the second guy's punch and elbowing him in the crotch before catching the thirds leg mid kick and breaking his knee, then he slammed the fourth through the plaster board wall and walked out behind him.

I heard loud noises coming from the guys' changing rooms. There was splintering wood. -shudder- and others. I ran into the guys changing rooms, and ignored the glare from the coach. "Lan?"

He snarled straddling the fourth, non-cripple guy and laying into him with vicious punches, splintering the bones of his cheeks and jaw and a fair few of his ribs.

"Lan," I called, stepping behind him and pulling him off of the human guy, careful not to hurt him. I wasn't sure if he was as indestructable as full vampires.

HE snarled before realising it was Becca who had pulled him away and he slowly calmed, though the boy on the ground was a bloody wreck, nobody could of seen until Becca pulled Lan away but the boy had a kitchen knife in hand as if he was going to try and use it on Lan. Lan slowly stood up and whispered "Becca I'm sorry .. I lost my temper .. they tried to take me unaware .. I fight to kill not to defend .."

I shook my head, reassuring, and pulled him outside, out of the building. Off the school grounds.

He let her drag him out of the school, his mind searing with rage and relief both, rage at the cronies of Matt's and relief at being pulled away before .. things got seriously out of hand.

I let him out of the hold once we were safely away from the gym class. I stood in front of him.

He looked at Becca as he cleaned his knuckles of the blood of the boys with his tongue, human blood .. he shivered when he realised what he had done and looked at her "I'm sorry ..."

"Shut up." I interrupted, with a smile. "It's not your fault you lost control. Although, you have to tell me what sparked it."

He frowned then said softly "Anything that takes me by surprise .. instinct from being a warder and then a black brother ..."

"Right, no surprises." I promised, bursting out into laughter as I pictured the look on all of the guys faces.
